August 28-September 1

Another busy week in K! With a half day on Tuesday and with me being out for a procedure on Thursday, I don't have many pictures from the week. This week we: made a list of foods we like and wrote a sentence in our journals, talked about what a noun is, practiced literacy skills in centers, talked about how to deal with conflict between friends (an ongoing discussion :) ), played alphabet smash, and did a close reading project with our guest teacher! After a busy week of working, we were excited to have free choice centers on Friday! During free choice centers we create freely, learn social skills in play and sharing, and use fine motor skills.

Our new outside bulletin board- We are Peacemakers!  We talked about how to be a Peacemaker and each child signed our Peacemaker contract. We created text to self connections as we discussed how David from the book "David Goes To School" was not being a Peacemaker and what we would do to be a Peacemaker at our school. Our 'David's' turned out adorable!

After recess we have been asking for kindness acts and have been posting them on our nice, smooth, wrinkle-free heart.
